Welcome to my image web site. It's a composite of images spanning some 45 years of commercial and personal photographic work--an abridged visual biography in a sense. Feel free to browse.
I know it may be obvious, but at their root these photos are simply records of light. After all, that's the defintion of the word photography. They are also studies of light. One fact immediately sensed when engaging with such a study is how matter-of-fact we humans are regarding light.
The bodily sense of sight is taken for granted by most of us. It is assumed and seldom appreciated. We focus on the object, but without light we see no object. That sense is taken away and we are left with a much diminished impression of the three dimensional world.
So, as you view these images, I invite you to reflect on the fact that objects are seen because light in the form of quantum packets of information reflects off them and is caught by the eye and translated into a language the brain can read and interpret. Looking at it this way it can be sensed as a holographic experience. We "see" the object because it is dense enough to reflect light. In other words, its vibratory signature (the totality of its atomic makeup) is slow enough as to make it appear solid to the eye and the hand. And that category of objects includes the human body. And of course, there is more to this story.
